Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in our service area, as well as immediate family members of existing members. We also welcome select employer groups and associations. If you're unsure whether you qualify, contact us and we'll help you find out.
You can join online at cusavings.com/ccu/enroll.php in about 5 minutes. You'll need to provide a government-issued ID, your Social Security number, and a $5 opening deposit into your Primary Share (Savings) account, which establishes your membership ownership.
As a credit union, our members are co-owners. Your Primary Share account represents your ownership stake. The $5 minimum deposit is your share of ownership — it stays in the account while you're a member and is returned to you if you ever close your account.
Yes. All deposits at Cyprus Union Savings Bank are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000 per depositor, per account category. This is the same level of protection as FDIC insurance at banks. Certain retirement accounts may qualify for additional coverage.
Yes. You can add joint account holders, beneficiaries, and authorized users to most account types. Joint account holders share equal ownership and access. You can do this during account opening or by visiting any branch or calling member services.
Accounts & Cards
We offer three checking account tiers: Free Checking (no fee, 200 free transactions/month), Advantage Checking ($0/month, ATM fee refunds up to $15, earns 0.10% APY), and Premier Checking ($12/month, waivable, unlimited transactions, dedicated advisor). All include a free Visa debit card and access to 85,000+ surcharge-free ATMs.
Our Free Checking and Advantage Checking accounts have no minimum balance requirements. Premier Checking requires a $2,500 average monthly balance to waive the $12 fee. Our High-Yield Savings account has no minimum balance requirement beyond the $5 membership share.
You can request a replacement card through the CUSB mobile app (Card Services → Request Replacement), by calling +357 22 880 100, or by visiting any branch. Standard delivery takes 5–7 business days. Rush delivery (1–2 business days) is available for a $10 fee at branches.
Share Certificates (equivalent to bank CDs) offer a fixed, guaranteed interest rate for a set term (6 months to 5 years). Unlike a savings account where the rate can change, your certificate rate is locked in at opening. In exchange, there's an early withdrawal penalty if you need your money before maturity. They're ideal for money you won't need immediately and want earning the highest possible guaranteed return.
You'll receive a notice 30 days before maturity with your options. After maturity, you have a 10-day grace period to withdraw funds, change the term, or make additions without penalty. If no action is taken, the certificate automatically renews for the same term at the then-current rate.
Online & Mobile Banking
Visit cusavings.com/ccu and click "Enroll in Online Banking." You'll need your member number (found on your welcome letter or any statement), Social Security number, and email address. The process takes about 3 minutes.
Yes, the CUSB mobile app is completely free to download and use for all members. It's available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Standard data rates from your carrier may apply.
With mobile check deposit, you can deposit most personal and business checks by taking a photo in the app. Daily limits are $5,000 for standard members and $10,000 for Premier members. Funds from checks up to $500 are typically available the next business day; larger amounts may have a 2-business-day hold.
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page at cusavings.com/ccu. You'll verify your identity via your registered email or mobile number, then create a new password. If you're locked out after multiple failed attempts, call +357 22 880 177 for technical support.
Loans
Credit score requirements vary by loan type. Generally, a score of 640+ qualifies for most loan products, and 720+ qualifies for our best rates. We consider the full picture of your financial health, not just your credit score. Members with limited credit history are encouraged to apply — we may be able to work with you on a path forward.
Personal and auto loans are often decided within 1–2 hours during business hours. Mortgage applications typically receive a decision within 2–5 business days. Business loans vary by size and complexity but we aim for 48-hour decisions on most applications. All decisions are made locally by our team — not a remote call center.
Getting pre-qualified uses a soft credit pull and does not affect your score. A formal loan application triggers a hard inquiry, which may temporarily lower your score by a few points. If you're rate-shopping for a mortgage or auto loan, multiple inquiries within a 14–45 day window are typically counted as a single inquiry by the major bureaus.
Yes. CUSB charges no prepayment penalties on personal loans, auto loans, or most mortgage products. You can make extra payments, pay ahead, or pay off the entire balance at any time with no additional fees. This can save you significant interest over the life of the loan.
Yes, membership is required for all CUSB loan products. However, you can apply for membership and a loan simultaneously — there's no waiting period. The $5 membership share deposit can often be rolled into your loan closing costs.
Rates & Fees
Variable rates (savings, money market, checking) can change at any time based on market conditions and the federal funds rate. We post current rates daily on our Rates page. Fixed-rate products like Share Certificates lock in your rate for the full term regardless of market changes.
CUSB never charges you a fee to use our own ATMs or any of the 85,000+ ATMs in the CO-OP and Allpoint networks. If you use an out-of-network ATM, the ATM owner may charge a surcharge. Advantage Checking members receive up to $15/month in ATM fee refunds; Premier Checking members receive unlimited refunds.
Domestic outgoing wire transfers are $20. Incoming wire transfers are free. International outgoing wires are $35. Enterprise Business account holders receive free domestic and international wire transfers as part of their package.
If you opt in to overdraft protection linked to your savings account, there is a $5 transfer fee per day (not per transaction) when funds are transferred to cover a shortfall. If you don't have overdraft protection, transactions that would overdraw your account are declined at no charge (courtesy decline). We do not charge non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees on declined transactions.
Security
Act immediately. Call our 24/7 fraud hotline at +357 22 880 188, or lock your card instantly through the mobile app (Card Services → Lock Card). We will review your account, initiate a dispute on unauthorized transactions, and issue you a new card. You are not liable for unauthorized transactions reported promptly under Regulation E and our Zero Liability policy.
Never. Cyprus Union Savings Bank will never ask for your full password, PIN, or one-time passcode via phone, email, or text message. If you receive such a request, it is a scam. Hang up and call us directly at +357 22 880 100 to report it.
Our online banking platform uses 256-bit SSL encryption, multi-factor authentication (MFA), automatic session timeout after inactivity, device recognition, and real-time fraud monitoring powered by machine learning. We recommend enabling biometric login on your mobile device for the fastest and most secure access.
Transfers & Payments
You have several options: Zelle® (instant, free, built into the app for eligible recipients), ACH transfer (1–3 business days, free), or wire transfer (same day, $20 domestic fee). You can also write a personal check or use our Bill Pay system to send a check to anyone.
Direct deposits are typically posted and available by 9:00 AM on your scheduled payday, and often up to 2 days early if your employer sends payroll files early. We make funds available as soon as we receive them from the sending institution.
Yes. Through online or mobile banking, you can schedule recurring transfers between your CUSB accounts on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. This is a great way to automate saving — for example, automatically moving $100 to savings every payday.
Business Banking
We accept sole proprietorships, LLCs, partnerships, corporations (S-Corp and C-Corp), non-profit organizations, and government entities. Required documentation varies by entity type. Contact us or visit a branch for a specific document checklist for your business structure.
Yes. Business Plus and Enterprise accounts support multiple authorized users with customizable permission levels. You can grant view-only, payment initiation, or full administration access to employees or accountants without giving up primary account control.
Yes. Our business online banking platform integrates with QuickBooks, Xero, and FreshBooks. You can export transaction data in OFX, CSV, and QBO formats. Our Business Plus and Enterprise accounts also support ACH origination for payroll processing.
